Green Hunting
Green Hunting
Bushboy Africa is now in a position to offer Green Hunting in the Eastern Cape
Region of South Africa. The hunter gets the opportunity to come in close range and “hunt” three of Africa’s Big Five, the African Elephant, White Rhino and Lion.
Green Hunts take place on a 10 000ha (+/-24 710 acres) conservancy. The hunter will be accompanied by a veterinarian as well as a team of conservationist using the opportunity to gather vital data.
The animals will be “down” for approximately 20 minutes during which the hunter will have the opportunity to take photos. At the same time measurements will be taken allowing the taxidermy to create a fiberglass representation of the animal hunted.
All veterinarian checks and recording are also done. Afterwards the animal will be woken for it to continue roaming the area.
Green Hunting allows for the hunter to hunt some of the big five without actually killing the animal. Green Hunting allows for the gathering of vital data and statistics in terms of the specie, therefore allowing vital information and research.
The hunter will be using a dart rifle fitted with an optical scope working on a red dot laser principle. The hunter will stalk within range and from there the shot will be taken.
Shot placement is vital; therefore the hunter will come extremely close to the animal, within 40 yards. Truly an experience of a lifetime.
